A sports medicine physician is trained to diagnose and treat injuries sustained while you’re active – whether training, competing, or trying to keep up with your kids! Sports medicine doctors often work in orthopedic practices alongside orthopedic surgeons and understand the testing necessary before surgery.
Sports medicine orthopedic specialists work closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists and coaches, when needed, to protect the health of athletes at every age. They also offer services to help you get back to your athletic potential after an injury, including:
- Athletic performance training
- Athletic physicals
- Balance and strength training
- Injury prevention training
